Licensing and Terms

Before buying our fonts, and regardless of where you obtain them from, you must read and accept our Arabetics Fonts End User License Agreement before purchasing.

Important Technical Information

Many of our fonts are non traditional, Mutamathil fonts. Most Mutamathil fonts have one glyph per letter. Some have an additional glyph assigned to selected letters. Therefore letters either do not change shape or do minimum shape changing. Unicodes are assigned to common (non-final shape) so that first letter typed is always resembling an initial shape. If an alternative final shape glyph is included in a font, it will only be displayed when preceded by a letter.

Also, since most of our fonts are isolated glyphs fonts by design, Tatweel or Kashida (Shif-j ) is a zero-width space rendering an invisible space when typed. In fonts where Tatweel is implemented, users can use it, only to trigger shape substitution for a glyph with extended stroke. Tatweel can also be used before a letter when an isolated final shape glyph is desired or to force out "allah" ligature. You can obtain more information about the principles of design implemented in our Mutamathil fonts through the Mutamathil type style page.

All Arabetics fonts are True Type fonts with Open Type tables included. They are compatible with Unicode Standards version 3.1 and above. Our fonts will work fully on Microsoft Windows systems. Since the Apple environment does not support fully Open Type features for complex scripts, including Arabic, shaping will not work in any generic Mac application dependant on Apple Advanced Typography (AAT) for glyph substitutions. Our Mutamathil, one glyph per letter fonts will work fine, though. Also, all Arabic enabled Mac applications that use their own complex script processing, like Adobe In design ME, will work fine with any of our fonts.
